POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr. Accountant is responsible for performing highly specialized accounting work required to maintain the company’s general ledger. Working under the direction of the Controller, the Sr. Accountant directs and coordinates the daily accounting activities to record the revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities of the Company quickly and accurately. The incumbent should be a highly motivated self-starter with a high level of attention to detail.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Responsible for performing monthly general ledger closing procedures, including account analysis and review for posting accuracy and completeness, reconciliations (preparing or reviewing), and subledger activities such as cash and bank reconciliations, payroll, AP and AR.
  • Leverage automation and technology and techniques to enhance efficiency and accuracy in monthly general ledger closing procedures and other accounting processes.
  • Assists with various documentation and execution of various accounting processes, including software/salary capitalization, revenue recognition, and lease accounting.
  • Cross functional support for key procurement and expense control processes.
  • Manage preparation and reporting of sales tax leveraging automated solutions and support external advisors for all other tax matters.
  • Actively participates in the design, development, and implementation of process improvements that create efficiencies and improve the integrity of the company's financial reporting system.
  • Supports special projects and ad-hoc reporting as needed.
  • Assists with audit requests and collaborates with external auditors.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to develop and establish financial policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently, with little supervision.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports in a timely fashion.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing a variety of platforms, including Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Concur, and Paylocity (or equivalent).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  • Strong problem solving skills, and ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to act with discretion and protect confidential information.
  • EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting.
  • At least four years of experience in financial statement preparation and general accounting.

SPECIAL CERTIFICATES and LICENSES:

  • Certified Public Account (CPA) designation a plus.

SALARY RANGE: $90,000 - $120,000 / annually

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
